I'd say if you have to replace an exhaust component anyway, and break all the rusty bolts and go through all the crap involved, headers are worth the small extra hassle.
Thanks for the info. The place I take my car to for work I don't want to do thinks it's the manifold that's cracked, but they aren't sure. They noticed it was louder, just like I did, but didn't look to closely. I'll get them to take a look at it when I have more work for them to do.
