So I had put 1500 miles around town on my newly finished 99 GT and decided to take it on a small road trip .... 150 miles in on the Pa. turnpike I started to loose power, exhaust sounded louder, small tapping to loud knocking then POOF, giant cloud of smoke, parts pinging off my new ZZP exhaust and coast to the side of the road DOA ! .... this all took about 15 sec. to happen.
a tow, 4 days of storage, a recovery mission, and $500 later its back home.
a question ... can this event make the engine twist ? I noticed today that the engine is defiantly twisted to the left when looking straight at it. all the oil is also on the left side, the drivers side is dry.

bad engine mount will let the engine twist in the bay. you got bigger issues at hand tho.

Maybe it spun a bearing, then it siezed really fast and force of the motor snapped the rod and out the side of the block it went.

There is no way for an engine to twist, a bad motor and our transmission mount is much more likely

I'm not going to say its not a bad mount, but all mounts were replaced when we did the new tranny install .... basically the entire front suspension and mounts, with the exception of sub-frame mounts are new.
I was wondering if the sudden STOP of the engine would carry enough torque to twist the engine in the mounting.
I can get a pic. but if your looking at the engine straight on, the left side is forward, its very noticeable at the dog bones.

Probably have to swap the oil filter housings as well, I think that they're different on the H body. Everything else should bolt up just fine.
