think what you want, and the dope at 3800 pro. coolant is under pressure, the oil is not.

big hint here is theres no oil passage between the lim and head either. your valve covers leaked i bet. if you had pools of liquid on the lim valley bolts, thats coolant that seeped up the bolt threads and valve cover oil. why you reseal the threads on those bolts.

    live and learn more please.

Also, depending on where you are in Virginia, I can meet you somewhere in between or make a trip and help you fix whatever your problem is in an afternoon. I've fixed a few lim gasket issues.

Oh, and Scotty is a close second to Bill here on good advice, so yeah. And He's right. I'll be happy to help and show you that if you really need it. No BS or sarcasm either. (maybe a little sarcasm)

My buddies coming out Saturday to give me a hand. Taking it apart is easier than putting it back together. About 1.25 hours to get i all apart, I spent 5 hours putting back together due to frequent breaks and forgetting to install the alternator bracket on the driver side behind the intake. Had to pull the injector rail and UIM. Thanks for the offer though.

I'm throwing in a new thermostat just to be safe, I did have a hell of time removing it to install the new gasket which didn't seem to seal as well as the old one. It was tapered down towards the LIM and the one that came off of it was the same thickness all the way through.

I'm not gonna keep arguing about the oil in coolant, I've seen it in the 3100 and given there is a depressurization that occurs as the engine is cooling it could suck oil into the passages in the block. Last time I'm saying it not changing my mind.

When I bought this vehicle I looked at a few Lacrosse Supers and one had white smoke pouring from the passenger side exhaust pipe and a cracked heater core, however it didn't overheat during test drive. The heater core was just turning the windshield orange.

Well if you and your buddy run into trouble, feel free to give me a holler if you're semi close to Raleigh (if you live in blacksburg you're on your own!). My wife has family in Richmond so we could make a trip on a weekend and i could swing by to assist. Either way good luck.

your just making all this up, please stop it. keep your impure thoughts to yourself. you got theory's, but no knowledge of how the coolant and oil systems work at all.

i bet last post the sheen you saw was f ing gas. cause we all know these engines like to gas up the oil.
