Hey guys its been a long time. I have a question on some of the shift kits I found and want some input you guys. So I found for the 4t65e tranny was the thrasher, trans go, and the ZZP. I not sure on which i should get so I did a bit of research and found that the trans go, and the thrasher shift kits are both the spring type and the ZZP is a valve type (not to sure what to call it). So seeing that i was thinking if or will it be ok to run the thrasher or trans go with the ZZP. And if not a good idea which would be the better one to go with.. Any and all input will help...

    ZZP kits sucks

Either thrasher (intenses) or trans go.. Both good.

Thrasher = if you want to break your neck during shifts

Trans go= if you just want a bit firmer shifts without breaking your neck

The zzp kit is a couple of spacers (at least the cheap one) and often I've seen them be plastic. Plastic and hot trans temps are no bueno.

Intense is an upgraded Transgo kit.
Transgo kit would do everything you need and can be found on ebay cheap
Thrasher isn't much different than the Intense one.

The basics of the shift kit is that it limits the movement in the accumulator. The accumulator slows the push of fluid behind the piston that engages the gear. By limiting movement, the fluid gets there faster and engages the gear.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

and isn't this considered a band aid for an aging trans as well, like when it holds a gear too long?

TransGo SK isn't much of a shift kit, just a factory rebuild per say.

    I'd get an Intense kit.

Even the firm springs aren't that firm.

Not to thread jack but couldh help for OP, would the thrasher/intense kit put more strain on the trans and cause excess wear on anything or other things to break being as its more aggressive as iv read compared to a trans go.

I just bought the Intense sk. Haven't got it installed yet but I did a lot of research on here and it seemed like the best choice. I read somewhere on here that intense isn't as firm as the thrasher kit and transgo is just for maint. Also, the ZZP kit uses plastic shims. The intense kit is more $ then the others but it also comes with everything you need minus the fluid.

The Transgo isn't a rebuild..it's an actual shift kit and works very well. It'll put the same parts in that you should do when you buy the intense one.

So you saying I should get both kits... I don't see the point in that... What does the transgo kit have that the intense don't??

Intense took a transgo kit and added a piece of green scrubby to wipe the bores, maybe new piston seals and an additional spacer to two for kill mode.

All you need/want for a stock setup is a transgo. You likely aren't looking to chirp gears. Bluesmurfgai is suggesting you go super overkill. There's no need though.

I've been in this car. Shifts great if you are modded, but a little too much if you are stock. Transgo is just fine for a stock car.
