If you're parked on an incline, the pawl releasing from the sprag will clunk as the load is released off of the tranny due to gravity. If you're parked flat, it should not clunk at all.

when ever you are on a hill, you should stop, set e brake, put car in neutral, let it settle, then put into park. when you leave take car out of park, release the e brake and go. cars shiftier will never be jammed in park again.
order engine and trans mount from rockauto, like 33$ shipped for both. Order urathane from mcmaster.com make diy mounts. Will cost about $70 to have diy high performance mounts. Id show pics of mine, but this computer doesnt have a SD card slot.
if you're stock and like a smooth vibration-free vehicle, don't do solid mounts regardless what they're composed of.
as far as the clunk, i have all brand new mounts and i dont have so much of a clunk, but more of a slight click when i shift out of park. i assume it's normal. every GP ive been in does it. so who knows.
I know...I know... but I think i'm overly sensitive with my car. i had solid rubber lowers for a while (AWESOME gear shifts may i add) but at about 50-65mph they would cause an out-of-balance feel. and i spent all kinds of money trying to fix it when all along it was just mounts. so i always like to give people my perspective before they take everyone's advice because maybeee they're picky about their cars like i am.
If "performance shift" pisses me off, I guarantee the diy mounts wont. The header hitting things is 100x worse than the p shift![]()
Mine only clunks when I'm engaging reverse. What would that be? Motor mount to or just hitting something
Most if not all cars clunk on a hill
