cost to replace tranny?

lost 4th gear driving home last night. going 65 it just downshifted to 3rd and never got 4th back. drove it today and still no 4th. how much on avg would it cost to get fixed?

It all depends where you go and what else is messed up. You can either have yours rebuilt, or you could get a rebuilt one and throw it in. This is just a rough guess, but 1k-2k. Again, just all depends on whats wrong.

Or you could just drive it for a while and get a bunch of quotes. It won't really hurt to drive it if your gonna get it rebuilt anyway.

you have a 98 gt with x amount of miles on it... unless your already hevily modded or into modding just drive it the way it is for the rest of its life or if the x amount of miles is in the 100k or less range
