Well then search around. There are many other sources to back up that information. It's almost "common knowledge."

And yes, sometimes hot happens and you can't help that. But to spread misinformation like:

Ive heard that around 260* is when bad things start to happen
is not doing anybody any good. Transmission fluid starts to break down, or in your words, 'bad things happen' well before 260°. So to think and convey to someone that doesn't know that anything under 260° is safe is just wrong. Fluid starts to break down well before that.

Yes, sometimes you can't help that your tranny gets hot. But with some preventative measures like a tranny cooler and synthetic fluid, you can prevent your transmission from getting to those dangerous temperatures over 220°.
