If I start out in Drive, I'll sucessfully shift from 1 to 2, 2 to 3 is a little rough, and then it wont go any higher.

99% chance it is your 4th gear clutch hub in the transmission. The good news is you should be able to limp along without a 4th gear for a month or so. The bad news is a transmission overhaul or replacement is your only option.
