I'm going to purchase a spare 4t65e and I plan on rebuilding it, so when my decides to take a dump I'll just swap the other one over. I have no intentions of making more than a max of 350 hp. I'm looking for a dependable trans that will last me another 75k or so miles. As far as the torque converter is concerned, I'm not sure if I should go with a stock 258 torque converter or go with ZZP's 245 or Intenses 245 ATI torque converter. I'm going to go with a stall as close to stock as possible for the better gas mileage as well as the better daily driver converter.

I'm going to upgrade to the new input and third "Pawl" clutch instead of the older design. The update ATSG (green) tranny book mentions that I have to get these parts to make the upgrade.

How do these parts effect my trans rebuild. I'm assuming I have to change my clutch friction material to the 03 and up. Would that only be the first cluches or input clutches to the 03 model?

1 Input clutch piston (whats the main difference between new and reconditioned on triple edge performance?)

Question on that list above is what is the difference between 01 bands and 97 bands? The 01 and up were the only ones listed for high energy.
