From what I hear it isnt really the straight line traction, it is the drivability end of what makes the diff worth it, especially in rain or during agressive cornering and stabbing the throttle. Instead of ripping one tire loose easily the car wants to pull hard through corners and makes it a different animal. I would expect burnouts to be a little better than with an open diff but it is not a locking differential nor is any other differential for these transmissions so there is always going to be some risk of one wheel spinning at a different rate than the other.
