My 04 has crappy radio reception, I notice some newer Gp's have an aux. antenna on the roof (shark fin), is this factory?

stock but not for FM. It is XM and Onstar. Remove your HIDs if your radio sucks

I have a 99 and my reception blows too. But it started after i replaced my factory radio with an aftermarket one. I've heard a person can just wire in a antenna amplifier like this.

Available here. FM Signal Amplifier Signal booster for problem reception areas at Crutchfield.com

Although the reviews for the one above aren't so great.

if your radio started to such after you installed a aftermarket one make sure you have the blue power antenna wire hooked up. Some people skip this thinking there is no power antenna. however this provides power to the antenna amplifier in the headliner by the back window.

I don't remember exactly what brand the guy used. It was done awhile ago.

I have a 160gb ipod, and even the interface from crutchfield that goes into the back of the monsoon stereo but I never use it. I've got far too much music and trying to make playlists out of my collection is just a PITA. I have a yearly subscription to Pandora :-)

I wonder if there's an input jack behind the stereo for a 3.5mm cable. Or maybe an RCA input. When it comes to car audio i'm pretty dumb! The ipod interface was already installed when I bought the car used.... I believe it takes place of the stock XM.

Blue wire goes to the power antenna wire in the stock harness.

I believe it is pink on that model but have a local shop look it up for you. if you have a metra harness connect it to the wire labeled for the antenna.

Sorry for the slow response dont get on often.
