    So if you live in upstate ny your tranny will never go bad? Everyone who owns a 90's era taurus should move there. Lol

    i own a 99 gtp that im getting ready to part out because i need the motor, trans is stock but shifts great. it was rebuilt two years ago and has give no problems as because mostly the car has always been stock.

    97% of what goes on here wont apply to your 96 gtp. this site is geared more towards the 97-08, 09 (pretty much a whole other animal) when ever it all crashed and burned. not that people dont like them or have a clue. a lot of guys love that year, and know how to work on your engine type here. parts are parts, they come off and go back on, just like any other car lol

    your car probably has a 4T60 in it.

    98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

    I know, just trying to learn. I have gotten parts for my car off this site already, so I am getting some nice help and ideas. I just didn't see him specify a year, so he could have had a pregen.

    most dont, there are a few of them but very few. like i said theres always a answer for your specific question, but generally its all 97 and up talk.

    and yes he could almost toss any tranny in there with re tuning the gearing or swapping the gear selector if needed, but its best to put back what year range of trans that belongs in your car. <<<the easy way really.

    i have an 05 gtp comp g 4t65-hd trans 40k on it for sale.. tap shift version!!! asking 500 plus freight (est 200ish) car was totaled and trans shifts mint
