I got my car tinted about a month ago or so and recently bubbles started popping up. I went back and they said its dirt and that its unavoidable unless its done in a paint booth but ive gone to another shop and talked to multiple people and everyone agrees it needs to be re done but theyre insisting its something you cant avoid so im lost at what i should do now. i dont know what else to tell them, and i really dont want to be out of 175 bucks...sorry this was kind of a rant lol

i did my own tint job, no bubbles at all. over a year later.

something tells me they didn't prep the windows very well. these no such thing as the bubbles will happen. not supposed to.

what windows got the bubbles? all of them or just the back window?

life time warranty or not, id make them redo the whole job, or refund your money, thats just bad business on their part.

like i said, piss poor prep work, you need to clean the windows with a razor blade, and the edges of the black on the back window and defrosters with -000 steel wool, and the black part of the front windshield for the brow. and then clean, then clean it again, then clean it again, its got to be real clean.

if they flat out say no, park your car in the lot next to theirs with a huge ass sign saying they do crappy work and wont stand behind it, heres the proof look for yourself.

You need to being it back and have them re-do it. You don't get dirt underneath it unless they failed to prep the window correct and it should bubble especially in that short of a time frame.

My Stealth was tinted in 03 in a normal shop that does tint. 10 years later it still looks perfect with no bubbles. The shop did a hack job and are trying to talk their way out of it.

If the whole dirt in the window thing was true he should of disclosed that to you prior to doing the work. Similar to how most shops will let you know if you ever have tint removed from the rear window that sometimes the defroster will mess up.

I had my tint done a few years back. I didn't notice till a few days later that the tint was cut a bit short on my driver side window. I went back let the owner know I wanted it redone and he had no issues. I later on recommended a few friends to him.

the owner is saying he cant allow it to be redone and swears its something i cant avoid because its an older car and that hes got other cars there with that issue. he did say that if i have another shop do it and it turns out better he'll refund my money so looks like ill have to go that route

I hope your not going to believe that. Lets see what can possibly happen..you go off and pay another shop and they do a flawless job then you go back to original shop and owner refuses to refund your money and uses the excuse that he can't fix it since another shop has already redone it...see what I mean the outcome could be even worse.

in that case, take your money first, go get a est to remove their bad tint job, and re do it. then say pay up sucker.

personally, i dont take this crap lightly, he would be fixing it for me due to seeing my f ing mug every day all pissed off at him.

and you can park your car and slander the crap out of him, as long as your claim is true, not a thing he can do. that alone should make him redo it.

make a huge ass sign for the side of your car telling the world how bad your tint job was, you can even paper the phone poles if you wanted to. just to piss him off, and loose customers to boot. park right out front his shop, let him call the cops, it will be a good laugh when they show up.

like i said, as long as your story is true, not a thing he or the cops can do, after all the customer is "always right" and your far from satisfied.

He also said he'd do it properly the first time. Get his "I'll pay you back if another shop does it right" in writing, or he'll deny it again like he did originally the first time.

BTW dirt IS avoidable, on older glass/cars the thing you cant avoid is if you have scratches on the window from wear and tear (which to a certain extent can also be buffed out before tinting to hide it) But that sounds like it would be way too much work for this shop

Doesn't matter if it's a warranty thing or not. You paid for a service and your unhappy with it. They got your money so they either need to refund it back so you can go elsewhere or fix it. Sounds like they're teaming up on you..stand your ground and bring someone with you.
