I actually put new tires on the back. EVERYtime. Even on my RWD vehicles, new tires to the rear, bald tires scrapped, better used tires to the front. Studies have shown regardless of FWD, RWD, or AWD in a case of hydroplaning you are less likely to wreck with better tires on the back, and more likely to not even slide with better rear tires.
Plus I don't want to slide unless I mean to, and which point, I want it to be RWD with enough power to keep it sliding as long as I need.
its been done (me) i used grand am stuff, it was easy
TBH, there will never be a need to use a handbrake in a Grand Prix. Granted I've pulled a few spins in a wet parking lot, and on occasion would slide the ass out on a dirt road. But just use the foot brake for that. If you click it in 1 click, then push it back in, it will unlock the locking mechanism, allowing free use of it.
You're a moron. The only "drifting" done in a 3000GT was in AWD ones. And to say a Grand Prix is pretty low is like saying a Chevy Silverado sits pretty low.
Drifting is retarded.
Trying to drift a FWD is retarded to the nth degree.
Anyone who thinks drifting is cool needs an ice pick put through their brain.
I didnt meen it as im going to go drift around every corner or try to race drift all i want is that ebrake if i feel like using it for fun now and again foot brakes are retarded idk how many times ive stepped into my gp and accidently stepped on the stupid ass thing its in the way and inefficient. I dont want to drift cus technically its not even drifting its called ass sliding but i would like to ass slide from time to time
Its like how gm didnt make it an option for standard, probly the dumbest **** they could of done, i love my gtp but there are a few things gm could of done better easily out of factory to make it a funner car
Like intercooling it? Lol
x2. It is nowhere near either of the 2 other pedals... unless you just have ginormous feet.
Also, it is an EMERGENCY, meaning under normal circumstances do NOT use this brake, but if needed... here you go. Its TINY, teeny tiny drum brakes and really only needed for use on steep hills as a parking brake, so you don't have all the weight on your tranny.
I could see if it was setup for using the rear rotors and would act as normal without the ABS feature, but as it only uses the drums, its a dumb idea. Period.
As I said, if you want to drift, sell the car, buy a cheap small import, Miata, 240, something light weight and RWD and have fun wrapping it around a tree.
Why didn't gm build a standard version? Umm because it would be complete waste of time these are fwd mid sized sedans...and they sold a **** ton of them because they were cheap and easy to make them all the same
I don't know what you guys are talking about I drift my gtp all the time.......in reverse lol
Because it was more effecient than putting a V8 in it.
Its FWD, its heavy, and it handles like sh!t. Its the pure definition of a family car.
