The point of HID's is to get improved light output, not look cool cause you have blue headlights.
If all you want is blue headlights then go buy the cheap POS bulbs on Ebay.

Cmon ppl, is it necessary to sound like a jerk when correcting or giving your own .02 on something? I joined this forum for friendly help/advice and to hopefully give the same once I become educated enough, not to be criticized and made fun of when I don't know all the facts about something or have a diff of opinion. Sounds like some ppl need to get off their high horse or grow up!
Look, like stealthee said, the point of HIDs is for light output. If you get 1000K, then I would almost bet you would get worse light output than stock. Actually, I know you would have less as OEM uses 4300K which is pure white. If you want your damn blue, buy cheap bulbs. Hell, why not go with purple? Do the smart thing and order 6000K at the highest. Still has slight hue of blue, but still can see ****. As for the 35W vs. 55W, not much difference in price of money.
To prevent from blinding other drivers you can just adjust your headlights down a little, or you can just straight up get them aligned properly. I adjusted mine down so where i still have great pattern on the road and its not in peoples eyes. I havent been pulled over in NE with 8000K.
35w will not be as bright as 55w. 55w will have more output but this also washes out some of the color, making it a lighter shade. Some people are worried about melting their stock housings with 55w, but i think thats mostly for the fogs.
4300 K or bust.
You will never get a halogen reflector to work 100% with an HID bulb.
Also what about the radiation filtration? :C
blue headlights are dumb. 5000K is perfect
35w 5000k is what I'm running and I have people flashing me all the time thinking I have my brights on. I would go that route, more then enough light output and has that great xenon look w/o looking obnoxiously blue.
The point of hids for you may be light output but for others (including me) it's both. I will not get worse output than stock seeing that my stock is halogen. 10000k would give me x2 output while 4300k close to x3.
I don't think purple is legal. I will probably go with 6000k.
hid's in your vehicle period aren't legal.
You keep saying you don't want trouble with he PoPo's but you still keep wanting those 8k hids. 6000k or below and you should be fine as long as you don't have your headlights aimed high.
Anything that isnt' Amber or Red will usually get you pulled over.
i got 35w 8k from vvme. slight blue tint but bright as sh1t. i was worried about getting 6 so i got 8 and i couldnt be happier. i got 10k in the fogs for the blue and i like it, but im switching it up to white to make my car less attractive.
Idk, I got 10's and I like the color and light output, and no trouble from 5-0. Its all diff in opinion I suppose. Im leavin mine the way the are and you all do the same....lol
6000K or LOWER.
6000k has that slight blue tint, and improves light output greatly.
If you run HIDs in stock housings, expect to be pulled over. even with them aimed down, they put out a huge light pattern. Which is why projectors are mandatory to run them legally.
Get 4300k, 5000k, or 6000k, and if you dont like the color you get, then just get different bulbs, no need to buy the whole ballast assembly to change the bulb temp.
