Im posting picture so its better explained.
I just got these new to me tails (mine are holding water really bad and look awful). The new ones do NOT have any water in them, so thats a plus. However, As typical gp lights they are starting to get those damn air bubbles (please see pictures)
I plan on tinting them, so its not a huge deal. What I was wonering was if I could take some clear silicone or something to that effect and seal them to prevent it from getting worse and to keep the water out.
Or did I not find as good of a deal as I thought?

The passanger side light is the worse

driver side just has 2 little itty bitty spots

You could put some clear RTV around the outside where the lense seperates to help keep moisture out.

Yeah just run some clear silicon around the top, and drill 2 small holes in the bottom to let water that does get in drain.

Drilling holes could allow in condensation though, couldn't it?

Awesome! That is what I was hoping to hear.
I was just going to do "light" tint, because im kind of a sissy and don't wanna get pulled over for them being to dark (even tho most of you seem to be lucky). Will the light tint be enough to cover that bubbling?
Im planning on having Flip do them when he isnt busy so the "light" is based off his pictures.

You might be better with a medium to help blend in the bubbling, or let flip decide what will blend it in the best without going too dark. He knows his stuff, so I would trust him with his best judgement.

Mine are BLACK and I get pulled over for other things all the time, but my tails have never been an issue. Being a girl you would probably get out of a ticket or fix it ticket anyway.

No water in ours but the bubbling is starting... seems like almost every GP I see has the same issue... I wonder how much replacements cost?

I just searched on ebay, but they were expensive on there!
I'd try a junk yard if one around you has some gp parts. All the ones around here already had water in them.
I got lucky and picked these ones up for 90 shipped (i thought it was a good deal anyways).
You can always try what these guys suggested for me, if it works you'll save some money and not have to buy new/used ones.

but it also let's it clear up from being vented. would you rather them condensate and stay that way, or fix themselves after a little time in the sun?

Where at do you mean exactly for drilling holes? Maybe a picture?
And how small are we talking?

I would let them dry out and then seal them with a bead of silicone caulk like the other guys said first. If it still takes in water then drill two small holes on the bottom of the headlight.

Check the gaskets around the bulb sockets too. Sometimes they get dry and cracked, that can let in moisture as well.

yes taillights delaminate, and the yellow plug on the back is the vent, but gm didnt design them well enough so a small hole on the underside eliminates the fishbowl look
