I'm loving this work on this retro, two up!

Are these Morimoto H1 5000k bulbs and 35 watt ballast or 55?

Did you dremel off the top of the projector housings at all to get them to fit that far back?

Get to a wall near you quick from 25 ft and measure up from the ground. I know you mentioned 4 ft high was in other cars eyes just curious how low they are. Great job here, how long did it take ya?

Morimoto bi-xenon projectors are killer for the price!

Matt at the retrofitsource.com will hook you up for sure on any parts you need. Do him a favor don't buy his parts from ebay save the guy those fees, use his website or simply call him. He's got really good prices and is quick shipping! GPF should partner up!

I have some 5000k Morimoto's coming I'll get pics of them in the next retro I'm starting Monday. Do they make the led switchbacks in amber?

You mean you just want amber leds? Because you can get those. Switchbacks have a white running light, and an amber turnsignal. That's why they're called switchbacks. Otherwise they're just leds.

Yeah I checked them out on the website, don't know if I'd want the switchbacks or not. Seems it would give the cops another reason to pull you over for nothing at all. I'd get them at 5000k though, I can't stand blue in my headlights!

the 6000k switchbacks do have a lot of blue in them. I have them in my Cobalt and they're actually closer to an 8000k color. They matched my fogs (which are 8000k) better than my headlights (which are 6000k). I ran them for over a year and was never bothered by cops for them. I recently just had one burn out, so I'm switching to 5000k ones pretty soon.

    That's what I don't understand....

People piss so much money away on dumb stuff but when it comes to having retro's people can't ever come up with the money. It's a set of headlights and $100 bucks people.

Hey Boost, can you get some pics on a wall from 25ft. I want to replicate this beam pattern you have here. Seems perfect height when looking at the telephone pole on the right about 45 ft over there

What size spacers did you use under them?

Yeah I could see why you wouldn't have extra money. Shoot sell something for $200 bam there ya go. It will be the best $200ish you ever spent! That is if you can do them which you can!

Well Boost did an excellent job and I don't mind the pm's honestly. I had tips, he had tips, together we could make an excellent write up but he hasn't been around to much lately I don't think. I think if Boost went 4300 or 5000k it would be even brighter. You don't want blues in the light, Morimoto's produce excellent color flicker as is.

ya i would do 4300. thats bright white right? ive had 6K HID's now for a little over a year and im tired of the blueish tint to them and i dont know if its just me but they arent that bright anymore. so i defenitly think its time to try and save money to do a retro
