So I got some 5000k HID's about a 2 weeks ago, the first few days they were amazing then they developed a small flicker, but not major, so I read up and did a few things, grounded them better, made sure the ballast and wires weren't under any kind of stress, and they were fine for about 2 days. Now the flicker is back and worse then ever. The lights seem dimmer and the drivers side is almost like a strobe light?(almost like it wants to get brighter?) the passenger side is a lot more dim than the drivers side and has a constant small flicker. Anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to stop the flickering?

Get a 4700 micro farad capacitor from Radio shack and attach it in between the wires that lead to your bulbs. Search the internet about this method. My cousin has flickering HID's and this mod helped. Or you can get a better kit because I know the kit he got was cheap as dirt and it really shows.

The wires from the ballast to the bulbs?

Yes. Splice into the Positive and then splice into the Negative. It goes in between. At least this is what I read when I was searching for a solution. I can't remember if it was the wires from the ballast to the bulb or the wires from the harness to the ballast. If I remember correctly it's the wires from the ballasts to the bulbs.

If that doesn't work, you could always get a relay harness.

Relay harness would be the best bet to save your stock wiring harness. If that doesn't work, then it's time for a better kit lol

Order just 1 (one). It will hook up to both ballasts.

Wiring harness? Or relay harness? Some people just don't know how much power HID's actually draw for them to consider buying a relay harness.

Well they work without a relay harness, but can damage your wires because of all the power it's sucking. So yea, it would be worth it to buy a wiring harness.

When I was looking to purchase mine (HID's) I called 3Bspec to inquire about their HID kits and the relay harness. I was then informed about all the misinformation on the internet and didn't require a relay harness for a 35W setup. In his opinion our cars are more than capable of handling the requirements of the 35w HID.

I made my own harness without a relay for my projectors. (9007 socket split into a 9005/9006) and haven't had any problems in the few months I've had them installed.

its just cheap insurance to have a nice big gauge harness with a relay.
