Usually it's $50 min for each color. I had the parts all bead blasted by my uncle and then my uncle knows the guy real well so he dropped off the parts and they just waited until they were running something else in the color i wanted and then threw my stuff in. It took 3 weeks with the waiting and it cost me $75. I saved $25. The prep i did and waiting till they had other stuff in that color was the reason i saved $. Usually when my uncle wants something powdercoated he goes in there and asks them what colors they are running that day. He picks one he likes and gets it the next day. Doesn't really work if you have a specific color in mind.

    Looks bad ass dude!

Thats how I do my powder coating here too. I ask whats being ran this week, and if its something cool I can live with for my own project, then I drop it off. Thats why my office desk is silver, instead of white.

It's a lot easier to clean powdercoat than paint and raw metal. I just rinse it off and it stays pretty clean.

Last year i had attempted to match the powdercoat color 2 times. This year i took the part down to the parts store and asked if they could guarantee a match because the previous two attempts cost $17 a piece(they can mix any color you want and put it in a spray can for you). The guy behind the counter said to go down to the place i had it powdercoated and get the number for that color because oftem times they have it in their database. They had the number in their database and the match is 99% percent on. The only thing i don't like about the paint is they recommeded i don't clear it because it doesn't have a hardener in it and could react with the clear. If i had thought ahead they could have put a hardener in the spray can but i would have like 24 hrs to use the can before it was no good. Oh well gives me a project next year if ultimately it doesn't work out to my liking(durability and cleaning wise).
