If you want to run cleared tails without tinting them, then you'll need to cut open the back. If you want to clear them and then tint them you can use the hammer, screwdriver and dykes. The hammer, screwdriver and dykes method leaves a little red lens left that you can't get to, but you can't notice it once it is tinted. Also when doing the hammer, screwdriver and dykes method don't attempt to remove the white lens for the backup light, it is too thick to break and even thicker you can't cut it with dykes.
Her is a pic of some tails i cleared with hammer and had lightly tinted.
