Correct me if I'm wrong but Black is the easiest color to paint.....there should be NO blending need what so ever.....(But I personally wouldn't use a rattle can unless it's a temp fix.....JMO

depends on the black, there are different shades, and what not (yes it is the easiest to match though)

If a bodyshop cant match this black then they have a problem..I would start with the painter.. If it was a Lambo or Bentley I may see what you are saying...7 different blacks on the same year cars.. But it a GM !!!... Sorry for being honest.
But it has to be mixed, and then the humidity changes color (I ran a body shop and went to school for body work) if you get a line from the paint on a bumper it was applied too heavy. Peeling clear is from bad prep, or incompatible products used (I did the recalls for GM and Chrysler on peeling clear coats) yes it should match, but I have seen it not match, and the bumper being so flexible it will crack while putting it back on (I loosen the bolts if the gaps are real tight)

Easy as in color match - hard as in gloss, smooth, no orange peel, no "scratches" etc.
