Ok I am looking at getting some L67 heads but there is a crack between the intake and exhaust valve. Some say that it is common and won't effect performance what do you all think I should do?

Ive heard that cracks on 3.8s dont matter. HOWEVER cracks cause hot spots which lead to detonation which leads to kr.

That's a pretty good deal. It's very common for our heads to crack there. Do you have any pictures of how back the cracks are?

$550 for cracked heads and used injectors? I say pass. For that $ you should get a complete engine. Im giving $90 for my heads complete. Sure theyre stock but its EASY to port a head. Ftr, zzp sells reman heads for $399.

    Easy to port a head?

Sure it's easy to remove the casting flash, but in order to properly port a head, and have it tested on a flow bench isn't easy.

Again, tiny cracks between the valves is fairly common and doesn't seem to have any detrimental effect on the motor. Now if the cracks are bad, then pass on them. What size/type of injectors are they? Cause a used set of 42.5 still run $150+ so it'd be like the heads are 400, which is eerily close to those ZZP reman heads.

Ported L67 Heads, milled .0005, ZZP Valves, 130# Comp Cam Springs, new Viton Valve Seals. And the injectors are 63# Siemens Injectors from PRJ Performance(Flow Matched)

For what I am paying figure it out how much are valves, springs, valve seals, retainers which I forgot to mention, and injectors? how much would you pay for all that then add the actual heads them selves

Figure you buy the reconditioned zzp heads then add the valves springs retainers and then buy injectors how much would that cost?

My logic is you can get away with cracked heads you already own but to buy a cracked set?
