So, each day I leave to head to class around 8 in the morning. Occasionally I would see some guy in a blacked-out 04 Mitsubishi eclipse doing the whole "highway warrior" traffic weaving thing on my way. About a month ago, I see him doing his usual routine in my rear view mirror and I don't think anything of it. I take the next exit which leads to a 2 lane road with a stop light not far away and I see the eclipse behind me. As expected, he accelerates and flies past me toward the light, which turned red. The interesting thing with this road is that the speed limit is only 35 and it merges into a SINGLE lane about 500 feet after the light. We were both stopped at the light and I knew that he would gun it to try and beat me to this merge. The light turns green and we both hit it at the same time. He immediately pulls about a car and half ahead while I'm roasting the hockey pucks known as my tires. As soon as I hook up, I easily flew past him just in time to beat him to the merge. I ended up doing about 60 in this 35 zone and promptly slowed down to an appropriate 40. Instead of getting mad, he gave me the thumbs up and we continued on our way to our respective destinations.
