Did you punch that in a calculator ?
I find calculators to be less and less precise at higher MPH. They don't take aerodynamic drag into consideration.
950-1000whp is what I'm at approximately. The car ran 141. It ran 139.6 mph in really hot weather and I was down on HP vs cooler days.
I was running rich AF in the low 11s on both engines
I lose a lot of time in the 2-3 shift which I think hurts my MPH a little as well. The car should be 145mph easy at the power level I am now. On cooler days more.
We'll see soon if the trans holds up.
As for Matt's car, who's downplaying ?? Certainly not me. I've said it , the car is a work of a art and a true race car with race parts in it in a race chassis.
It's the record holding GTP and deserves a lot of props !
That said, his time and MPH prove the track was exceptional and I bet the conditions were exceptional as well. Still 8.6 @ 158 mph is an exceptional time regardless of the conditions and the quality of the track. That was a hell of a run !
The respect I have for that car is such that I know it will be difficult to beat it even with an advantage in displacement and AWD. I think the same power in a race chassis I could touch the 8s. Not beat matt. I need a light chassis + more power. That shows how much Matt's car is awesome.
But then again, my car's drivetrain is pretty much all factory stock parts. I think that in itself is cool to run 9s on junkyard parts in any car.
