This morning coming to work on the freeway.
Nice looking red z28 with a black ss hood, don't know the year.
We went from 60 till we hit 110.
Had to let go because of traffic.
The nose of my car was right at his bumper till we shut down.
Worthy lost to a gm product.
After we raced we used the same exit to a stop light.
He said he was suprised of the quick accelaration of my 4 door car.
He told me he ran 12.9 with slicks at the track.
I don't think thats true, because of the outcome of the race.
Always wanted to see how i woud run against a camaro.
    Now i know!!

A good driver can get 12.9 out of a stock ls1 Fbody.

12.9 seconds in the 1/4 mile is the record for STOCK 98-02 F-Bodies,I believe. Although, last time I checked on that was about 3 years ago.

Best part about it was the guy drove 12.9 stock as the only GM car at the track. It was Mustang Day at the strip where it happened. All the Stang drivers actually were amazed and impressed... not often they give GM any credit, at least my experience with them "the LS1 is the most garbage engine out there..." *sigh* what ignorance

    I lost this run.
It was a z28 not an ss though!
Maybe with my next mod, Stage II IC,42lb inj and 2.8, i can put a better fight.

Past 110, it would have gotten ugly though. I ran even with an LT1 back when I first got my GTP and the VS cam was installed. Not really any match for an LS1, though.

hell i can run even with LT1's with just an intake. i agree i would strait get yanked by an ls1 tho!! and the faster you go and the more steam they build up the harder they pull
