You are not actually in 3rd gear.....you are still in first ...

and one other tip...stage shallow and do what everyone is saying...it's better like that when you footbraking it.

helped me pull off a 2.1 60ft on ****ty tires and a dp and a plog (so in other words not much)

Moreless you want to give your car enough gas off of the line to put you on the edge of spinning out. To find you stall rpm for launching that is something that you should experiment with to find the one that works for you. What works for others may not work for you. You tires, weather, and track condition will all affect how hard you can push your car without spinning out.

Yah, really all you want to do is be able to bring the rpms up just enough so that the suspension tightens/preloads on the launch so you don't rock back like a rocking chair as much. Just hit the gas and brake very slowly raise the rpms until you feel it letting go. Do that real slow a few times and then get better at it so you can do it quickly and feel it instead of looking at the tach. You don't need to keep the rpms up to the point that it is lunging the car, just the point where your comfortable to drop the hammer and not spin like hell.

The reason you put it in 3rd is because manual shifting won't help you and you don't want it shifting into overdrive down the track.

If you really need everything, move both front seats as far forward as you can for extra front weight... might laugh at first but it might help.

I went around the water box, backed up got the car straight, then punched it real quick to spin the tires and get them clean. I roll up and shallow stage like already mentioned, and then footbrake to 1500-1800rpms. When I go I let off the brake and quickly, yet carefully roll into the throttle until the car starts moving then punch it as soon as you are out of the hole.

This wasn't my best run ever, but it is filmed from right at the starting line so you can clearly see what I'm doing as I come up to the line and how the car hooks. This run was a 1.97 60ft (my next pass was my best, a 1.94)

I raced on 245/45-17 Continental street tires and I was hooking 1.9X 60fts... and they were balder than bald - no joke lol.
