I'm not saying it is a bad setup, I'm just saying PROVEN higher geared cars trap better...and get out of the box better...its called the driver mod. I pulled a better 60 with 3.29's then with 2.93's. One of Intense's cammed cars back in the day would trap over 115 with a S1X and IC on a 3.69 gear.

Gears are always going to help getting out of the box with traction depending. I also don't think that your correct when you say a steeper gear set will always net a higher trap speeds. I have seen better times with a decrease in trap speed on the same tire and wheel set up. Just becz intense ran 115mph on a 3.69 gear is only half the equation.....I am sure they ran a 28inch tire or better to run that time. I was about to say...most E85 guys I have heard of go #80's...that way they never have to worry about running close to maxing the duty on the injector they are currently on. Last thing you want is a lean condition...even though you know what they say...LEAN IS MEAN

E85 takes a very lean condition to knock as well. 98% of m90 cars need 60's to have some head room for fueling and 80's are to much unless its a turbo e85 set up. My car on 42's even tho maxxed at the shift still hold a more than safe afr.
