    i have a 2004 comp G
    mods-intake, plugs and wires.

i was messing around with him on the highway and he finaly got the hint that i wanted to play. he got up behind me at about 90 and i laid into it . he was stuck to my bumper like glue. the lane next to us was open but he never attempted to come around me till i went into forth gear (125) and by 130 he was pulling up beside me and then we shut it down due to traffic. he deffently had me covered but i was suprised i held him off for so long.

hopefully when i get my headers on, 3.4 pulley and a tune ill be the one walking around him . what do you guys think??

I'm surprised with just those mods you kept him behind you. Those m3's aren't slow.

yea i was pretty suprised i did so well. im still kinda wondering if he was just sitting back waiting on me to go or not. but from a 90 punch and your going to wait till 130 to come around. maybe he couldent but idk. i deff agree those cars are pretty fast. maybe it hurt him he had 5 people in the car

Since you have a stock PCM, you should have been cut off by the speed limiter and you should have shifted into 4th well before 125. See if I can find that comg G stock bin, to make sure I'm not dreaming. You must have an aftermarket PCM.

A stock GTP with 2.93 gears has 3>4 shift at 124 and a speed limiter of 127. Since a Comp G has 3.29 gearing I would assume the 3>4 shift would be set a little lower but the limiter the same. Looks like you were pushing it to limit and maybe beyond.

as for the speed limitor, it deff aint cutting off at 127 cause its seen just about 140 (137-138) so i dont know about that. the pcm is delphi so im guessing its stock. could have been reworked tho..i dont know.

and third shifts out at 125 (5600)....2nd 80mph...1st 45...and well im guessing they are 3.29s cause my other grand prix had 2.93s and they were MUCH longer. i could do almost 95 in second with those gears. these are much shorter. and im pretty sure the speedo is right.

and as far as the car being maxed out. the pcm maybe for the speed but overall i must say the car handled it very well. good stability and the motor itself felt like it was just out stretching its legs. it felt very solid IMO

Thought you might find this interesting. Again, this is a GTP so the MPH shift points are likely higher than a Comp G.

Because of the drive-by-wire system there are the equivalent of 2 throttle position sensors. A safety feature, incase one of the sensors fail. The PCM looks at both sensors and if they arent reading within a certain tolerance of each other, then action is taken to prevent a possibily dangerous situation.

Yes the Comp G (GTP) has 3.29 and the standard GTP 2.93. This is why I said the WOT shift MPH would likely be lower on the Comp G. At the same MPH in the same gear the Comp would be at a higher RPM (200) than it's brother.

You are correct, I wasn't clear.
