    I was driving through town tonight and caught up to a Cobalt SS. It was the turbo SS. I kinda goose it so he can hear my SC. He gooses back so I can hear his BOV. He had a fart can and an intake I know of. Doubt he was running more than stock boost due to the outcome. So we make it to the drag strip and he taps his horn and slows down to 20MPH. I drop down into 1st and he does the same. I blow the horn 3 times and we're off. I have some wheelspin as does he so we remain dead even. Being right beside another car with my window half way down at redline I didn't realize how loud my SC is . Anyways, he had already hit 2nd and spun a bit going into 2nd and I'm still spinning in first. We both catch traction about the same time, then I hit 2nd and begin to inch on him (torque FTW), when he shifts to third, I pull about 1/2 - 3/4 of a car by the time he gets spooled back up. I'm again, just inching on him, same thing every shift till I hit 100mph and let off. I took him by about 2 cars. I let off and he does the little fly by. For some reason, his passenger flips me the bird instead of a thumbs up. Last sentence is a lie, he just flew by and that was it. I'm proud of the gtp tonight. If he would have power shifted and kept his boost, he probably would have won. Maybe had to replace a shifting fork, but he woulda won. Those cars are quick though! Win for me and GTP though!

    good kill. u still have a stock s/c pulley?
    3.4 pulley, 3" catless dp (ubend deleted), 3" exhaust split to 2.5 dynomax mufflers (no res), zzp plog, 4" spectre intake, alt rewire, under/overdrive pulleys, intense pcm, 3/4" zzp tb spacer, al 104's, 180* stat, msd coils/8.5mm wires, heatwrapped crossover, flipped db's, optima red top, sunpro st boost gauge: boosting 11lbs.

    yeah, haven't had the balls to put the 3.4 on yet.

    nice then, he got beat by a stock 6lbs of boost.
    3.4 pulley, 3" catless dp (ubend deleted), 3" exhaust split to 2.5 dynomax mufflers (no res), zzp plog, 4" spectre intake, alt rewire, under/overdrive pulleys, intense pcm, 3/4" zzp tb spacer, al 104's, 180* stat, msd coils/8.5mm wires, heatwrapped crossover, flipped db's, optima red top, sunpro st boost gauge: boosting 11lbs.

    what does your KR look like or have you scanned? Thats why I haven't put my 3.4 on. I thought I had an aeroforce bought but the guy backed out. The only other way I would have to scan is by my brothers MAC scanner, which I can't have all the time. Just once every now and then. I'd rather have 0* which I have now than even 2* when I don't know it.

    hmmm, i'm not sure if this is legit. If he was a bad driver you'd win, but without the pulley drop you should have lost

    Driver mod needed. The turbo cars have no lift shift features so they don't have to use the clutch for the 1-2 shift...that way it can stay in boost. Good runs, but a bone stock one on youtube in Georgia or something like that ran a 13.64...so...I say let ME drive it for a rematch

    Touche. Turbo cars have to stay on boost. You lose precious time every time you shift and lose boost. Thats how I got the MR2 into 11s (powershift all the way. Didn't car about the trans). 3 shifts in 1/4. Everytime you shift normally, you kill boost. Unless you can find another way.........Surprised my tranny held it to be honest. Total raping or the trans. but she pulled a great ET for her mods. The only time I really gained on it that I could tell was on shifts. If he coulda held boost he woulda pulled on me. When I saw the headlights dive, I pulled.

    I think the GTPs take off way better than the Cobalts out of the hole.

    you still use the clutch for nls, you just dont have to lift up on the throttle

    yea i got burned by a turbo ss with an intake and exhaust...only by half a car but he still beat me. either way nice kill man

    It's legit. I don't come here and make up BS stories like some. Turbo, 5spd cars have to be driven right to take advantage of their strengths. By the way his headlights would dive when he shifts, he obviously wasn't raping his car, but he was definately racing me. If he was, he would have won like I stated earlier.

    you have a **** ton of torque for a little car to go through compared to a wide body of course it will there is no weight on the wheels ive never spun all the way through first in a prix but multiple times in my ss lol
