is it the coolant that can drain out and the engine still goes a short distance before it grenades?

North stars do have there issues. But most of them are great motors. It always made me smile to think GM had a 4.6l motor making 300Hp when ford was only geting 260hp out of theres.
it depends on the condition of the cars.I think a fresh kept up condition gtp can roll with a sts,sts definitely isn't a slouch but I have a car club as we speak I have a 00 sts and a 00 gtp, they haven't ran yet but my friend has a 07 hyundai sonata v6 and he beat the sts by a car stock to stock and the sonata and gtp r both even so idk!
^^^^ thats messed up, your the only person i've heard say that lol. and i would say the same about gtp's cuz bf had 3 and all of them broke down, mine is acting up but im not downing l67s. you take care of your car and it'll take care of you. and its been several n* with 400k miles same headgaskets and trans. even the 4.0 n* is a good motor. they used it in a twin turbo setup for the lm cars(didnt think a girl knew that lol) and i hate to say it coolant should be changed twice a year so i'll take a n* over a stock l67 anyday.(hope i dont get banned), but fully modded l67 nah. but as far as them being crap dunno maybe you got the ones made on friday/holidays lol, but i remember for over 6 years straight bf dogged his caddy and his moms caddy and they held up and ran like new until somebody stole his and moms traded hers in for a cts
^^ and they were put in the manifold to cut down on noise and probally wasnt any space left. and if people were to do work theirselves then cost would be cut 300% and hell bmw has more issues than n*s but hell arent they both luxury cars.
and we went from a gtp vs a caddy to a northstar bashing lol. these guys love em

^^^^ dohc and stsv off the showroom floor was beating cobras. and caddies been racing for years the canonball run in the 50s and they returned in 2000 with the lm car. wish they mass produced the cien so people wouldnt ask that question. v12 n* ftw
those numbers are lies and you can mod them to lol its an airpump just like any other car just everybody doesnt know how to tune them, but they have a 5 angle valve job that makes them 85 real horses. and the 4t80 handles way more abuse than our 4t65hd, and they have no wheelspin off takeoff so if your stock you might wanna leave them alone.
I dont lie. Im no teenie bopper. These numbers are on motor trend.com as well as motor week and car and driver (check youtube). The guy also stated that they were neck to neck until about 60mph. The STS's also has major wheelspin. When my buddy first bought it, he left a 10' mark on the pavement! Its all about foot control!
I also ran with a dodge charger police package and i didnt get beat bad. I was at his rear fender to 60. My car is completly stock! Here is a link to the numbers I found 0-60 Times / 1/4 Mile Times .
