The wheels below are 18x8's from a 350z. 114.3x5 with 30mm offset. Will that work?

Would going with a more profile (less sidewall) tire be a good idea on stock wheels?

I don't know about the offset but, I have 19x8" Nissan Maxima wheels on my 2004+ GP GT2. The center bore is not the same as GM's GP so a shop will have to enlarge the center bore to the size of your car. It work out good. No vibrations or anything. Now bending one of the wheels with a Michigan pothole is another story!! Damn 40 series tires.

I can't say anything about the wheels, but as far as tires for stock wheels, the size would work, but there's no reason I can think of to get a shorter sidewall. It's just going to increase your fender gap and throw off your speedo (not much).

Do you have a pic? I'm not familiar with the center bore, i'll have to do some homework on that. and when you say 40 series, do you mean the sidewall is 40% of the tread width?

More handling / appearance should be slightly better.

this is a 100% correct statement.

hub bore is wrong. so either you get the wheels machined or you run spacers.

Bio, what about the 30mm offset on 18x8's? not enough or enough?

Iirc the center bore needs to be opened up a bit to work.

the 30mm offset might be too much. you'll probably have to roll the fenders.

Also, I need tires soon, gm recommends 225x60x16. If i want a slightly smaller sidewall, does 225x50x16 sound right? thanks.

Rims are 18", anyone recommending a 16" tire should reconsider.

Dont run a tire that is not the correct diameter. It doesn't make your car look cooler. In fact it does the opposite because it increases wheel gap.

The wheels are on the car so I can't show you the inside of them. I mean't 2?? x 40 x 19"(40 series). I'm not looking at them right now so, I can't give exact size. The shop machined the center bore larger to the size of the Grand Prix's. No spacers.

The car is dirty on the first pic(today). The second is a pic I took out of a window at work(old pic). I censored out the co-worker's cars.

Center is 66.1. Smaller then a GPs.

I had some 35th 350Z wheels on my s10 I wanted to put on my buick but didnt want to run spacers like I did on the s10. and ofcourse I know a place that bore's at rims now

or I would have kept them. I love those rims.

BTW, love the Maxima 19s. Those are nice rims.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Fathom this. Lets say you have 2 inches of wheel gap with stock sized tires. Now you put even smaller tires on.....

I shouldn't have to paint a picture here.

The only time to go with lower profile is when you go with larger diameter wheels.

Wheel gap is not aesthetically pleasing, unless you are driving a big lifted truck, but then you usually go with BIGGER tires in that case.

smaller tires also lower the car. a lot of guys in the low game go with lower profile tires to go lower with their entire car since they can now tuck more of the wheel without as much issue.

however, without being able to go lower shorter tires look excessively stupid.
