no idea what the fire is from. it was -45 that morning when i fired the car up to let it warm up. while it was warming up i heard it misfire a whole bunch of times, then it died. i quickly ran out to the car to find a **** pile of smoke coming from under the hood. cracked the hood open and there was flames against the firewall, above the header. so it melted my spark plug wires as well as the alternator power wire and a bunch more **** back there... coolant lines that run into the tensioner. just a **** show... im pretty pissed off considering that i had nothing touching the headers or even anywhere close of touching them. BUT the night before i had my reverse lights short out, my park lamps short out, rear and fronts. so there was FOR SURE a wire issue. i thought since it was arctic cold this week that maybe some of the fuses weren't connected properly or something that just got effected from the cold, but i dont know? fact is that i have to bring it in to get insured and im almost certain that its a write off.. so i guess my black Comp G is going to be getting fixed up and safetied sooner than planned... i hope that i get more than $5,000 for the car, if not ill request them to replace my vehicle with one just like it of the same value.
PS.
The pictures i tried getting are crap and its very very hard to see what actually burnt. its not like it was a huge blaze of fire, but enough that i couldn't put it out with a pale full of water the first time.. very much a kick in the balls for putting money and cleaning the car up from the previous owner to have this crap fall onto my lap![]()
