Hit a truck in the rear end on a slick rain road, my ABS and TCS was not working, luckily I have full coverage estimater said 3000-4000 in damamge oh lord I have the worst luck!
What's luck gotta do with it? Looks like you made a mistake going too fast for the conditions. I would never suggest to anyone that ABS/TC would help them stop in time.
At least you didn't "Hippo" it, that requires leaves.
You will be lucky if the insurance company does not write the car of if the damage is 75% or more of current value.
Someone has got to say it.
From reading your other post I can tell you like to drive wreckless, and tear **** up. Running 87 octane when going WOT and in boost.... k might as well scrap the car. Because now you have a broken body, and probably a broken engine.
I suggest you buy a Lincoln Continental to keep you safe.
So, car is totalled out.
Because I work for one of the biggest banks in the country and I'd only loan out $3,404 on it.
That's with every option and 100k~ miles, which adds quite a bit to the value...so if it is more in the 150k+ range...think along the lines of $2,500.
Good thing, since you're motor was probably toast too running that 87 octane.
I for one would also not have TCS or ABS, it makes stopping WORSE.
In my world:
ABS= driving for the conditions, space cushion, and knowing what's around me and not stomping on the brakes like I'm trying to stop a train.
TCS= Control of the pressure my right foot is exerting on the accelerator pedal.
Growing up w/ cars that had NONE of these options I learned how to drive w/o them. I personally don't count on/can't stand them anyways.
yeah i miss the days of hearing locked up wheels screeching....then the bang of the crash. ( when i was a kid we would hear the screech and we would all freeze and just wait for it lol ) nowadays all you hear is the crash.
They have slick roads in Texas?
lol sorry I just figured everyone else was taking jabs I wanted in. Hope everything works out!
I guess I'm not the only one that always listened for that, lol... Screeeeeeeech!!! 1, 2, 3, BANG! Although I have locked them up before I didn't hit anything. It was usually to avoid some other idiot that wasn't paying attention. Still can't figure out how you can miss an 84 Vic that's right next to your drivers door though. Bunch of dumba**es.
Although I did lock up the brakes on the GP last week (ABS light on so no ABS for me) when some girl that was apparently a permit driver w/ her dad in the car decided to pull out w/o looking to her right where I was coming from. I saw her come up to the stop sign and I could already tell she wasn't going to see me, so just to make a point I pushed em a little hard and got em to lock up. I think she turned about as white as printer paper, lol... Hopefully she learned a good lesson there and I won't have to T-bone her next time.
student drivers there a topic!
i came up on one the other day, the instructor had his hand on the wheel completely steering the car through a S turn and the girl driving had a stone face (blank stare) on as i passed them, she had no clue what driving was. she should just take the bus.
We lost another daytona? Only making my Daytona that much more valuable since it has 67k and immaculate lol...![]()
^^ its still a grand prix, so its rarity is worth nothing.
to the op, i had a fender bender because ABS. it actually increases the stopping distance. but like they said: itd die anyways from you trying to cheap out on gas.
^^ True, but the miles are about a 2k add-on to the bank/kbb/nada, so that helps
My first car had no ABS and TCS and i liked it better that way. I like being in control of my own car and not have a computer kick in to help stop. Im fully capable of bringing a vehicle to a stop. And as of right now my wire for ABS and TCS is broke on my car anyway and I like it that way. lol
