be glad all it was was careless, he probably could have wrote a drag racing ticket, that means you lose the car, and your license. You broke traction that got you noticed, the cop did his job (sorry I believe in writing tickets for that stuff, and if caught street racing your license should be revoked, and your issued a skateboard for the rest of your life)

    Racing for the track only.

Sorry about the ticket though. That's how we learn.

    dont feel bad- http://www.grandprixforums.net/f14/m...html#post57442

About your ticket...the solicitor at the court house is your friend...give him or her a call and explain the situation and see if he can give you a break. all the city wants is there money. Just explain you value the privalige to drive and dont want any points on your license. trust me. it works. i just got my mom that lives in another state out of a 24 over speeding ticket by doing this. along with myself many many many times

I don't know of a solicitor in MI (GA has them as do most other southern states that allow influence peddling)

oh well i was just trying to help. didnt realize that all states didnt have them. talking to the judge would have the same effect. ...it couldnt hurt just to ask in my opinion.

Usually the judge will lower the fine, but points don't go away (not sure now, but it used to be anything over 5 over not on the interstate got points)

I guess ga is lucky then, here it is anything over 14 mph gets points as far as speeding goes. here all the city wants is there money. so if you have something that causes points but you are willing to pay the full fine they will reduce the speed but keep the price of the ticket the same as if you were paying for a higher ticket.

I guess they think about it like this...hey if we can get the fine money right now without having a trial or delaying this anyfurther then lets do it.

When I lived in Memphis, the MPD gave out so many tickets their office was swamped with paperwork. If you just promptly paid the fine, it never went on your record. They got their money, so they kept it local.

One time I waited too long to pay and went down to the judge on my court date. He threw it out and I just paid court fees (half the ticket).

5 over is 2 points here on a regular street on the highway its 0

but i have fought points before but this might be a little harder to do

and to reply about only racing at a track the only reason why that doesnt work for me is my car is good enough to mess around on the street but i dont feel like going to a track and getting my soul stolen with how bad i get whooped i mean my car isnt as far along as it should be for me to take it to a track plus ive never been to a track either dont know the first thing about it all i know is you watch the lights than go but all the etiquette involved it is intimidating along with my car in my opinion although it being a gtp is not quick enough for a drag strip

If you race or even just watch a race here in Enid, it's $575.

Are you ****ting me? I used to live an hour North of you in KS. That's a bunch of bull.

Dude I've gotten out of those tickets twice now. Go to the county attorney's office and see if you can get a diversion. I'm not sure if all states do this but all i have ever had to do is pay XX.XX amount over the ticket and it was dropped to a non moving violation.

That's why i don't have any marks on my record.
Either way ask around and see what the locals do for tickets and how to get out of them. Even if you have to pay more it sure beats paying higher insurance premiums.

like i said in Michigan you have to go to the courthouse on a certain day when the officer who issued the ticket is scheduled to be there and than he will tell you what he can do for you than you go in sit wait to be called up by the judge ... the judge looks at it asks the officer what he thinks should be done and than its over

At least you can admit you screwed up. Most of the time down here if you go to court and admit to the judge that you screwed up and don't take the attitude "it's the cops fault" or whatever, they will reduce the charge to something else. That is if you have a decent record...just an idea. They just kinda' want you to be sorry and not screw up again for awhile.

I can see a cop a mile away. Even at night. So, the last time we got "caught", I was out. At the time, my car was the only one like it in town, so if they wanted me, I'm not hard to find. But now I have an air force buddy who got one because he liked mine (and he has a vette). If I was to get caught, I'd play some sort of dumb. It's kinda embarrassing, but it works. To be stereotypical, I think most girls are not very bright. I guess thats why they get away with alot of things.
