please explain this points system....here in IL there is no such thing, all they want is your cash, of course 3 movers and say adios to driving for a while....but I frequently travel mostly by plane but sometimes by road and i would like to know what crap to expect from other states....last year I drove from Phoenix to Chicago in 29 hours via rented 06 Grand Prix, don't think I spent much time under 120mph through all of Missouri, so any info would be helpful

most states have a system of points, you hit a certain number (Mi was 3 when I got my license it has gone up) you lose your license different infractions are different penalties. Also note in almost any state over 20 over the speed limit can be classified as a felony

yep, it's because at that speed you don't have as much control, and usually your either running from the law or being an idiot anyway

To be stereotypical, I think most girls are not very bright. I guess thats why they get away with alot of things.
well not that im saying you do this but i know a lot of girls that play dumb or cry and the cops take no mercy ive actually heard some cops talk about they think its funny when girls cry to get out of tickets and if they do it they dont get any leeway

The laws have swung way too far on this stuff. Its one thing to bust ricers gathering for an illegal street race meet. It is another to slam someone with a racing ticket for running light to light with someone just messin around on a friday night. I'm not saying 120mph in a scool zone, I mean just some horsing around in a car isnt allowed anymore. I agree being truly wreckless deserves a ticket, but just alittle fun doesnt deserve a huge fine, car taken away etc. Its out of hand.
When I was 18 I smoked the tires at a stop light because a cop was following me everywhere. So I wanted to piss him off LOL I got an "unsafe start" ticket. Today I would've been in cuffs and had no car.

it's because of the number of people killed by the idiots who lose control stoplight to stoplight

My husband did that (didnt see the cop). He went to jail (bad attitude). The cop was a Big D!ck though also! Thats a tiny reason he don't drive my cars. I had him bailed out before he was completly booked.

Well C&I driving, Careless and Imprudent driving, is almost worse than a DUI. My suggestion in regards to the "solicitor" you can find out who the PA, Prosecuting Attny, is and contact him before your court date and ask for a lesser sentence in leu of a higher fine and keep the points and lose the CI off your record.

Or goto court and face the judge and ask for Traffic School, if it is offered in your area. That way you get out of the ticket and generally have to pay for court costs and the school itself and you save the points and the ticket.

Just some thoughts on that one.

traffic school isn't available in Michigan unless you do something real stupid (then it's mandatory to get your license back after suspension) MI also requires drivers training be taken before you get your license where most states I am aware of that offer the traffic school option don't require it

wear a shirt and tie, it makes the judge think more of you (learned that early on, got out of a few spots by doing that when others got nailed wearing jeans)
