Im 24 years old. Im very outgoing, loud and hyper guy. Usually im the life of the party, but I don't drink. I take that back I drink maybe 1x a year. It really makes no sense why people see the need to get drunk. I went out to celebrate a friends 21st last night and I drank too much. Now I had 11 shots of Jager over a 4 hour period and then some other drink that was thrown at me. I couldn't even stand up to take a piss than it dawned on me I had to walk 2 blocks home...now wtf do i do lol? I never get sick and never have a hang over. But other people do. People spend hours at the toilet, people get hurt, killed they wake up in pain. They don't remember anything you spend a ton of money you wind up with breathalizers built into the ignition system of your car. ......what the hell is so fun about that? Quite frankly the few hours of fun you have while drinking and hanging out is not by any means worth the outcome.

Now don't get me wrong throwing back a few and just hanging is cool. Don't get that confused with my rant of idiots get totally sloshed.

    Maybe im missing the point.....?????

Most people get drunk to forget the crappy week they had. Others just have a drinking problem. Im a combat soldier and 90% of us just do it because its an excuse to forget...

getting hammered is a hobby of mine. no, i don't drink every day of the week. no, i don't feel the NEED to drink. however, it is fun because i get to make it to another state of mind where i have no filter on my mouth, i dance like a champ, and feel no pain. it also makes it for a good story to myself in the periods where i do black out. i do not drive when im drinking a lot, that's a stupid decision.

don't get me wrong, it's not for everyone and it never will be. however, i have a lot of fun drinking. maybe it's because im so intelligent and logical that i need an escape from the world where everything that i analyze upsets me? who knows. either way i enjoy it.

i just up and quit drinking 4 years ago, i drink on new years eve and stuff like that, but i just don't enjoy it like i used to. i was up to 300 lbs and drinking a 6 pack a day for a few years, i stopped drinking and lost 30 lbs in no time. it gets old, and bar prices suck too, id rather roll up a fatty and be able to function.

i have drank once, i had a 6 pack of mikes hard lemonade, tasted so good...and then right before i finished the 6th bottle, the truck was on its side and i was scared out of my mind...i was stupid enough to drink and drive, not only that, it was my first time drinking, and the truck had no tread on the tires, which i knew, and it had a light back end...stupidest decision of my life

I think getting drunk is pointless as well. Have one or a few but dont get to the point where your not fully in your correct state of mind. Ive seen people come to partys just to hang out and a few hours later becomes the life of the party because they have gotten drunk and then next morning I see a post on facebook with the life of the party being arrested for either drunk driving, assaulting somebody, or in the hospital. I hardly drink and when I do 1 or two is enough. As the OP says why get drunk and forget what happen last night.

I usually out drinking 2-3 times a week but it's mostly just having a few beers with a couple of close buddies talking about what's been happening lately. I'm a guy that likes beer, just cause I like it lol.

When I get drunk it's a good release for me, do it only a few times a year, I never do anything stupid and have a couple of responsible people with me. I usually don't have a filter when I'm drunk either lol.

Yea same. Dont really see the point. I just see it as just a huge inconvenience. You gota find a ride home, the next day is totally screwed over. the $$ blah blah blah. Il end up going to drinking events but end up not drinking. Drives my friends nuts cause they love drinking but imo i dont see the point. Im a quiet guy, and even if i am half gone its still brutal talking to chicks and different people other than my friends lol.

And not to mention once you start throwing up..... The other week 4 of us were coming home from a bday party, 30min drive home on the highway. Me and my other friend didnt drink. 5mins into the car ride my friend starts barfing all over in the car. He was in the back seat and managed to get it on the back window . Thankfully it wasnt in my car, if it was, i would of killed him. but yep its just so much fun!! lol

X2 here cept for the dancing... I've only been drunk enough to try dancing 2-3 times and pictures the next day on ****ing facebook or myspace made me cringe... Lately though I been smoking a lot more and drinking like 1-2 times a month if that.
