ok well being born and raised a in central NY and starting my driving life in ny i got used to certain things,1) EVERYONE does/did 5-10mph above the posted speed, the cops knew and it was let to slide..much over 7-10 you were pushin it. 2) people knew how to drive on snow.....now skip to current times,im as resident of south central PA...and have noticed that damn near every driver 1) does the exact or maybe if im lucky 5mph above it and 2) these people dont know how to drive in snow ...how is it hard????
case an point, today i leave my house with my friend to go be at work by 2:55-3pm..well we leave at the perfectly resonable time of 2-2:05 pm,as its a 30-35 min drive normally.Wellllll today seemed to the day that every single f*cking person on the road decided to go 5 under or exact speed limit,Now me being used to 5-10 above..rolls up on this traffic at 55mph(its a 45 zone) and have to slow down to bout 42mph as to not tail gate the sh!t outta the car in front of me..well turns out ol grandpa time wanted to take a drive today..and hops out in front of the traffic,we slow down to 30 to accommodate his SSSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWWW accelerating land yacht (mind you still a 45 zone!)..then he pokes along at 35 feakin mph..well now seeing as i couldnt pass then i didnt, but if words could kill that line of slow ass's would be in coffins i swear..anyway,we get to an area were i can pass in a turning/passing middle lane and i get on it and pass em all(line of ohhh 7 cars) and i get dirty looks from every mother f*ckin one of em...well f*ck all you!! cuz of ur slow ass's i was runnin short on time to make it to work..as i am new here,is it normal that PA drivers are more observant of speed/traffic laws than NYers??..if so change damn it cuz i sure as hell am not changing how i drive!!!

2)..people need to learn to drive in snow!!!..it not that hard srsly,i dont even have snow tires and i did jjjjuuussssttt fine the other day that it snows maybe 1/8" of snow and coated the road a bit..well i go t the near town to run an errands..trip usually takes 30-40 mins as its 15-20 mins one way..well this day last fri...i go and on my way back i encounter 2 tractir trailor incidents(1 jack knifed other went off the road and took 2 suvs with it) and a freakin 5 car pile up involving a dumptruck...now ow the hell does all this happen w/ maybe 1/8" of snow?!?!..up in ny itd have to be soooo much worse to even see half those incidents occure..so DO south/central PA drivers ust suck in snow... I say yes!
now time for bed for me..

Dude..your in PA, it's nearly a different universe. Although I've never seen the 5-10 under/exact speed issue.

Maybe they are afraid of the sign before every F'n bridge that reminds them "Bridge freezes before road"

Or the big signs that are permanent "Caution drunk driving checkpoint ahead".. or "Beware of aggressive drivers"

With signage like that..you can't question things further. The state is clearly run by and full of some sketchy folks.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    Yes...

I wondered how retarded the population must be that even with the sign a drunk would continue the mile down the road to the checkpoint.

Same with the aggressive driver sign. Those are only a couple of them.

I been born and raised in PA, and the answer is yes. We blame those dang NYers for being too aggressive! Saying that, I'm a reasonably aggressive driver myself.

And as for snow, most of we PA natives generally drive pretty good in it! I know what you mean, though. The worst drivers are the idiots in 4WD's who think they can push you and fly all over the place. They're the ones I'd like to punch in the face. With a hammer.

I lived in Central PA for a while. They go ****tarded when there's snow - and they NEVER have plows/salt in the budget. So, get a canoe.

Clarification: 10mph over is standard in PA, you can do 15 on a highway without attracting attention. A cop will always get you at 20+ - they'll be watching from a bridge or on-ramp. The exception is speed traps. Anywhere the speed drops 10mph+, you're sure to find a ticket-happy cop.

In the King of Prussia area, we have a lot of transplants from Philly that are either maniacs, or 55 years old with their first car. Highway travel ain't bad, but driving around town will be frustrating, especially if there's snow/rain/the sun momentarily passes behind a wispy cloud - and you'll be trapped behind a big, expensive 4x4 SUV with a driver scared to do the speed limit.

I pretty much stay right around the speed limit when I drive anymore. In my youth I used to fly around rushing to every location as fast I could possibly go. After all the tickets and accidents I've just found out that its not worth saving the few extra minutes to get somewhere. The sad part, is the fact that although I've been in 6 accidents... none of them were my fault. Someone always hit me or caused me to hit them by doing illegal turns across traffic.

Although, I'm one of those drivers your talking about, I stay to the driving lane and not ride in the passing lane.

The snow issue in Pa has always been bad. The accidents and caution used when driving in it can likely be attributed to how horrible the conditions of the roads are. A lot of roads in Pa are bad enough just driving without and rain or snow. No matter how much they seem to raise the taxes, the roads always seem to take last priority. When they do get fixed, they are sent to the company with the lowest bid, which tends to do the worst job.

Redxprez is right. Certain townships do an amazing job, but the state isn't exactly known for it's road health.

We've got a couple awesome signs that say "150 km/h and your car is gone for a week BUDDAY. HOW YOU LIEK THAT GUY?!"

Well..... not exactly like that.... but 50 over and you're toast.
