had some good rain last night, thought about moving my car, but was like ahh it'll be OK its only 2 inches of rain,,well, the water had resided by the time i got out to it this morning, and i had puddles still on the floor boards, i was like holy crap,,this sucks! i tried to shop vac it out, got like 5 gallons out that way, then i pulled the back seat, lifted the carpet and found out i got like 2 inches to 4 inches of foam under the rug,,so on went the complete removal of my interior,,blows! the back bottom seat was soaked, the very bottom of f/ pass seat was just a little wet on the bottom,,but the drivers seat was soaked to seat back. got the seats out and then the console, and then the 100 + pound rug! now Ive got a gutted out daily driver while the carpet hangs in my friends garage to drip dry out, got the seat mostly dry, so i'm hoping every thing drys out fast and don't start to stink,,,what a day! rant rant rant ,,my car is a Buick regal gs just so you know, and it fired up like nothing ever happened,,checked all fluids to see if water got in, but it looked normal, all electrical still works too,,got lucky i guess..

you can really hear the road with out it plus i have the drain plugs out still so some air will circulate ,,nothing but wires and paint.

tomorrow ill see how dry it is, and if its still damp ill hit it with the green machine rug shampooer, hopefully its hot on Saturday and i can let it sun dry.

so i went to my friends house to check my carpet today and of course its still very damp, and starting to stink, so i got a huge box of baking soda and rubbed it everywhere, stink went away, so i'm happy with that, then i had my driver seat apart to fully dry the seat bottom, and the little tears i had in the seat got huge, so after drying everything i had to brake out the sewing skills and sew in a nice patch, not to bad of a job if i don't say so my self. tomorrow will be fun as i'm shampooing the rug as its the only day of sun it seems, after Saturday its all rain for the next 3 days.

on a side note some poor guy left his car next to mine as well, his car has been flooded 2 times and its still sitting there with the windows all fogged up, its a newer car so i'm guessing his insurance will be paying for a whole new interior. wishing i had full coverage right about now!

this rant is completed! i got the rug shampooed and dried, the seats are all dry, everything went back together nice and easy and the damn thing smells better now than when i bought it 2 months ago. remember---BAKING SODA IS YOUR BEST FRIEND WHEN THE STINK STARTS TO RISE! this whole fix cost 3 dollars, for a huge box of baking soda. and it did take about 10 hrs of work to get it all dry and cleaned over 2 days, so 3 bucks and sore back.
