500 bucks for loud music? really? but harleys can ride around all day with ear deafening exhaust and its cool? cops can turn sirens on and its cool? some laws are bull**** and are designed to legally strong arm citizens out of money. ****in bull**** pisses me off... oh well... at least i kno my **** hits... says he heard me 5 blocks away and made his car vibrate when i passed him.

Sounds like a way to make people easy targets.
An excuse to check your insurance, smell your breath, look at your eyes and run your plates. It lets them profile you and gives them a law to back it up.

Subs that vibrate peoples cars are fuk!n annoying but $500 is crazy.
You can get caught speeding and only pay $80. Subs won't kill anyone!

Unless he has proof from either video or a a reader (Read noise I cant think of the damn name right now) then he has no proof except his word against yours and you could take this to court with your argument right there about harley exhaust and even truck exhaust but it also depends what the time of day was and where you were. If you were rolling through a residential late in the evening then a warning would be enough I think unless you keep doing it then a ticket would be next step but is the 500 for your first offense or have you had this problem before?

Harleys need loud exhaust to be heard around semis and ****. Some are obnoxiously loud that rattle the ear drums which is too loud.

On one hand, you were probably loud enough to be a nuisance. On the other hand, if the cop's got no evidence (Db meter), then he's got no defense. Or that township might have an ordinance like "Audible over 25 feet." That's a lot of mod money right there, and it'd be a shame to waste it.

Negative on the no evidence. I am pretty sure cops are "trained" to know what is too loud and what isn't. I am fairly sure if a cop visually estimates you speeding, it will hold up in court.

I agree, but in some cases that **** can go crazy, I moved 6 months ago, the place where I used to live. Guys with loud reggaeton or banda music which I specially hate would pass by my house every 5 minutes or so making even the doors inside vibrate, this would go on all day even late at night, can be very annoying.

Now the place where I moved is funny, because almost no one with loud music passes by here, but now tons of cars with some type of mod pass by I can hear blow off valves, fart cans and flowmasters all day long now LoL.

I also think this should also be applied to bikes too. It's insane the noise those guys make.

I don't mean to offend you but this, "at least I know my **** hits," mentality bothers me. This isn't directed at you personally, it just bothers me when people obviously really want other people to hear their bass. For the most part it just irritates people. I'm all for good bass myself but I wish people would put less money into their subs and more money into designing a system that fills the cabin with bass without being obnoxious outside of the car. That being said, $500 is over the top and I agree about the Harley's but most of their pipes aren't really legal either. The police do use these kind of things to target people and get a chance to search cars for drugs and such though. My little brother and a bunch of his friends got busted because someone complained about them playing music at like 10pm in the yard when it wasn't even a system. But, then again, the police in that town are some of the worst police in any city I've ever been to.

It's a law, have to abide by it. They did the same here. But the ice cream guy plays that damn annoying music and can be heard from blocks away. Turned him in more than once. He just raised the price of his ice cream.

you roll around town here after about 6pm, and you have your system up, you might as well pull over and wait for a cop. My friend has a solution for that. He has a kill switch on the floor board connected to the remote wire. If he gets pulled over, he kicks the switch. then politely cranks his system in front of the officer and no bass. hes got out of at least 2 tickets that i know of that way.

thats when you tell the cop to go get a ****ing warrant. if he really wants to spend the time and effort getting a warrant to check out a teenagers system, then he needs a new job lol. i will never ever let a pig in my car without a piece of paper signed by the judge.
