Whats wrong with cops?

dark tint is for ballers like me. you have to live in the city and they wont care because they have better things to do. the only places ive been pulled over is outside of the city near my parents house since it is more of an upscale area. i had 15% all around and intend on doing the same to all my cars i ever have.

Yeah cops don't really care around here, their all big ol' redneck dudes that could care less. I've actually sat in bars and talked to cops while they were on the clock. One cop told me that he wished he could get away with dark tint like I had on his mustang.

i like those kind of cops...i did talk to one tho who acutally asked me if mine were illegal, and i said ya, and he told me his windows were illegal too and that he didnt care! and then told me to be careful around staties...awesome!

bummer on the ticket but ummmmmm agian why do something that is illegal and then ***** about when caught and issued a ticket. I personally like tint all round but it is illegal here to have it on the fronts soooooo when I get my tint done guess what, the fronts won't get done. Either buck up pay the fine or don't have tint but don't ***** about it.

to be honest im not complaining about the tickets...i think they r funny. i dnt like how instead of doin something about the crack dael down the street that just broke out into a gun fight and causin chaos, im gettin a ticket for a non moving violation. ? that makes sense! i just think cops could use their time more wisely...

Half the crack dealers that get taken off the streets initially are getting pulled over for.. window tint, burnt out tail light, rolling a stop sign, etc. random traffic stops.

I have 35, and 20 in the back. Looks ok. I wanna do 15 all around soon though, the cops in my area really dont care because most people have dark tint. Hell ive seen an undercover with tint so dark I couldnt even see if someone was driving. I get away with my taillights around here too and they are very dark.
took a trip to jersey once, got pulled over for my taillights. only a warning though =p

Was pulled over once for this at the time I had 20% all around. I have two law enforcment troopers living on my block and to them it is a safety issue.. I simply removed the front tint went to court and showed the judge my compliance to the law and she dismissed the ticket two months later illinios changed the law to allow 35% in front and 30% in the rear...so I'll be re tinting..I'll also be putting wrap around louvers on the rear as well and installing a gun rack!

K so Im driving to my friends house in the middle of the day not speeding or doing anything illegal and as I'm parking in front of his house a cop car comes flying out of no where, cuts in front of me, almost hitting me and two cops jump out and run over to me like I'm some kind of criminal. They come up to me and say "you can't have tinted side windows". I don't know how they even noticed because my windows were rolled down when they pulled me over. They take my license and write me a 60 dollar ticket. They tell me if I get two more tickets I have to go to court. Don't cops have anything better to do then drive around in a residential area chasing down people with tinted windows?
Btw does anyone know how to fight this kind of ticket?

I drive a truck for a living. Give this a try sometime. Did I also mention that I cross the border allot too. The Michigan State Police (and revenue) sit right at the exit to the Ambassador Bridge and pull over Canadian trucks all day and night for the most rediculous things. It's about money. From the Caribbean to the Arctic, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, municipalities are trying to balance their budgets by pulling people over for stupid crap, in the name of $$$$$ and saying it's for safety or (my personal favourite) security. I mean I know that there is no crime in Detroit so these POS cops have to worry about bloodthirsty crimes such as parking and not coming to a full stop when there is no stop sign.
These leeches who pulled you are just trying to justify their jobs. Blame your politicians and vote them out.

PS. I'm from Canada and last summer I was cruising Woodward in Detroit in my Ontario plated car and one of Birmingham's finest pulled me for side tinting and it's totally legal in Ontario as long as you can see through it. He said he could give me a ticket for it. My reply was that every Michigan car that goes to Ohio can be ticketed for not having a front licence plate following that logic. I had a good laugh over that. It's about $$$$$$$ guys and girls. In the end, I left with nothing except for a bit of harassment.

Hey my tint ticket was $115, so you all are lucky IMO! and on the "factory tinting" if it is 7%ish, I have 5% so does that mean I have -2% light coming thru? lol

This is why i've never bothered to tint the windows on any of my vehicles, they draw enough attention from the cops much less having a reason to be pulled over.
