Okay sweet, sounds good I will do that. Thanks for the info, I got it working just can't do my album in my profile.

You don't really have to drill the hole for the sensor...just zip tie it somewhere nearby the intake for a good temp reading

Great tutorial just did it looks and sounds great.

It will reflect temps sure but the whole point of the iat sensor is to reflect intake air temps not under hood engine bay temps. that's like taking your crank sensor putting a zip tie on it somewhere else. The iat sensor has a specific function why would you think otherwise?

Yep, and when you move it to a cooler area, the performance will reflect that.

yes what your doing is turning your intake into a ambient air sensor its a intake air temp sensor theres is a diffrence your air temps need to reflect what the engine is pulling in air temp wise.. air mass changes with diffrent temps. and its important for PCM to know that.

you take the cone and put the iat inside it
you simply take a nice razor blade and make a slit big enough to pop the iat harness through

At that point u could just make a cut with a razor and insert the Iat sensor.

I dont know if anyone has added this info to this thread yet, but here you go. (so not reading 15 pages...)

These are the part tags from the first post with name and all courtesy of a local Menard's.
Elbow: notice the 3" side and the widened other side where the 4" opening of the air filter fits perfectly.

Rubber coupling: this type of coupling is commonly used for connecting pipes of different material and ensures a tight fit between the pipe and the throttle body

Holy ****... my first post outside of my intro may actually be useful. :P

why don't you just go to pep boys and get a aluminum 22* sweep and spectre coupler then you can have a legit shinny looking intake for like $5.00 more.

simple: because its one hell of alot more than $5 more. The coupler alone is $15, the only sweep that Advanced Auto had is almost $60 (Spectre intake kit without filter) plus the $30 for the filter... with this setup you end up spending $4 for the coupler, 5 for the PVC pipe, and the $30 for the filter. I dont know about you, but i dont have $105 to spend. This setup works just as well and costs under half the price. (Prices acquired from Advanced Auto. Was just there looking at all this stuff less than 4 hours ago. There is no Pep Boys anywhere near here and i refuse to shop at Napa.)
