I asked above, which headers do you recommend? ? I'll do all the mods to make them seal and fit - I have the technology ;-). Can you point me to a recent ebay link or website for what would work best. Also should I go 1 5/8 or 1 3/4??

I guess i'll try and hunt around and find something good for headers. I have all the marmon flanges to make the speed daddy headers nice so that's why I was gonna go that route... I'll have to come up with something.. I really need some insight on what to do with the fuel system more than anything right now.

Sounds like my speed daddy headers shipped so that will be cool to have those soon and start some mock-up work... power washed the engine and trans today.. when I get out of work tomorrow its time to tear the trans apart to see if I need any more hards parts.. can't wait for this to be done and on the road.

    Doing a little spring cleaning

Its all separated now and trans is on the trans table and the engine is on the engine stand..

Well instead of a single build thread, we suggest you make a thread in the members rides section to keep all of the progress on your vehicle in one place.

Ended up pulling the heads off. Figured I'm this far into it that it would be stupid not to have a valve job done.

I'll spend this weekend putting a parts order list together. Really hoping a couple weeks and she'll be back on the road like new

I'll see if I can put some kind of thread together.

I'd like to order most of my engine parts from the same place while supporting a site vendor. Which one does everyone recommend? ?

    What parts?

That will determine who you should buy from.

I've got a pretty good list. I'll see if I can find some free time to post it up tonight.

Well here is a list that I can think of off the top of my head..
    • S1X Camshaft
    • 105 Springs, Retainers, Locks
    • Stock Timing Chain
    • Timing Chain Dampner
    • Gaskets (misc - engine is down to short block)
    • LIM Gaskets
    • Supercharger base gasket
    • Cometic Head Gaskets
    • Head Bolts??
    • Rocker Arm Bolts??
    • 3.4 Pulley
    • Valve Covers ( either good used or whatever because mine are nasty and warped)
    • Good Valve Cover Gaskets
    • Supercharger tensioner pulley
    • Idler pulley (has a crack and would like to replace it)
    • Front Brake Pads
    • Front Rotors
    • Outer Tie Rod Ends
    • Both Axle Shafts
    • Radiator (I think I located one new locally)
    • Trans Lines
    • Power Steering Pump
    • Water Pump
    • 60lb injectors (would like to be able to run E85 and run 93)
    • Fuel Pump (if needed)
    • Engine Mounts (Not sure which would be best to go with here)
    • Wide Range O2 gauge
This is just a start I guess.. All the trans stuff is coming from TEP

If anyone see's anything wrong with the list or thinks there is another way about doing things please feel free to chime in.

    Damn auto correct... cometic

I guess i'll probably go the stock gm or felpro gaskets..

Everything is tore right down to nothing. The only 2 things that I see bad are the trans oil pump shaft and the differential .. everything else in the trans honestly looked good..

Tomorrow is engine oil pan removal day and valve spring day.. I'll probably throw the heads on the mill and cut the seal seats down a little.

I can't wait for all the parts to start getting here so I can start assembling. Fun fun fun

Yes, all the gaskets including the Oil Pan and main seals. You will thank yourself later.

The S1X cam is a great cam for stock heads. You will not be disappointed. In fact data was collected by various Grand Prix members and it was determined that the S1X had a better backhalf than the XP in the 1/4 mile.

Other than that you should have a fun car when everything is installed.
