I'm sure you both have great set ups (you probably have better subs)

Ah, different worlds man... "better" is subjective... he's SQ oriented, as I'm a groundpounder who likes to shake vision and bother the backs of people's throats and their eardrums.... I understand where the disagreement was.
yeah there's always disagreements between SQ guys and SPL guys lol
Lol nah bro, I realize my knowledge wasn't sufficient to provide info equal to all of 1800's links... hell, I had to go above my head to get valid points lol. In any case, I welcomed the debate, and it was all good... until I was belittled... that was bull****. Plain and simple.
Him being a mod doesn't mean anything, and clearly he doesn't know anything about car audio when it comes to dealing with SPL and high powered systems. The OP got the wrong info in the first few posts, especially when someone recommended him a Red Top... That being a good starting battery but terrible for car audio.
Wanna get off topic?
Hows your hearing doing?
Still able to hear 18 kHz?
Ahh, to everyone wondering if batteries matter or not, the owner of Maxxsonics, who makes Crunch, Hifonics, MBQuart, and Autotek, made a video to answer the debate!
Car Audio 101 - Battery Tutorial - YouTube
Now 1800, you have a solid track record of owning audio companies, building and designing amplifiers, and >600w experience, can you please tell everyone why this guy is wrong?
Only reason I want a new battery is because I want dual terminals. lol
So you rock ear plugs while listening to this system?
Which also means you cannot hear police/amublance or firetruck sirens?
"i like to use 13 V because this is where a deep cycle generally rests"
They generally rest at 12.5 V.
The alt was off for the first two tests so your comparison is invalid.
You also didn't reduce the number of batters in super street.
What speed did you run the motor at?
Most alts don't produce full output anywhere near idle.
Do you have an output chart for the alternator you were using?

My comparison is valid, with alt on and an extra battery, I only gained .4V. From just 1 battery no alt to 2 batteries no alt, I gained .2V. So say I added the 3rd battery and only gained .2V, that means the alt gained me .2V... just as much as the batteries did.
2000 RPMs on the dot in SuperStreet NW. The alternator produces max amperage around the 1700 RPM range.
Thats an assumption? Okay, so 1 batt gained me .2V, then 1 more batt and a 220A alt gained me .4V.
Argue with Maxxsonics more too, you are keeping me entertained. Do you have any world experience like I do with this subject? I'm trying to educate the OP, not make guesses and hope I'm right.
