    i made some flaps at work out of steel i can just clamp onto my ram air scoops on my car because i am also afraid of water getting on it when i wash it...lol

    Polished Gen V, 3.1 mps, intercooled, S1X cam, northstar tb, and Tim King built trans with 3.29s and all the good stuff

    what im looking at now is a cai box...i am wondering how hard it would be to make...or if it would even be necessary

    its not necessary. your setup is fine.. a box would get you colder temps though. the idea is that the box isolates the filter from the hot engine bay air. thus making your intake air cooler. thus making more power. any gains would most likely be negligable.

    the filter will get cut up from bouncing. my first one did and this one is straight into my fw so i lined the inner metal fender with hose so it wont get cut
