thanks for that UCF04, good help. I'm sure the SMD's fit the trunk though, just havent tried it and from your experience, I may not but I am going to use 5-5050 red SMD's to replace my Trans Am dash. from a guy on ls1tech, they work perfect.

No, a 562 is a pronged festoon mount. Not the most common bulbs.

I have 2006 GT I have some questions.... 1 When install led’s in doom light do you see light bleeding for the led’s when they should be off (because led’s require less power)
2 I have a factory remote start now with the led’s that bleed light does that mess up your remote start ?. (put led’s in 2009 ford Edge messed up remote starter well the dealer said that cause of the systems check the edge does before starting)
and on Paul’s site he doesn’t have a 2004 to 08 led packages.
I like to do the entire interior light including the trunk and licence plate light

not sure what you mean by "bleeding". But if car is locked and everything is off, they are off. If car is on and you hit the switch, they turn on. If car is off and key is turned to first position (engine still off but AC & Stereo on), hit the switch = lights on.

The one issue I've found with them is this. Unlock car, get inside car, close door, lights automatically turn off (supposed to happen), hit switch to turn on a single interior light (key is out of ignition), very very low output from the LED light. This is probably due to the low volt/amp pull that the light has, but is a noticable down side to interior LEDs if you ever want to turn on an interior light with the keys not turned to atleast the 1st position.

Sure there are ways to get around it, turn key to first position, start engine/car or hit the unlock button again. But still there are times when I want to turn the light on without the key in at all and it doesn't give me enough light for anything.

Since I don't have the vanity mirror lights would the price be a little less for the whole kit?

What I mean by bleeding when the normal light goes off the LED has a low light emitting from the led’s even when they are off. I was told because LED's require less power I would see this very gimmer of light.

I checked the LEDs both my JamStrait & Dioded Dynamics. When they are off, they are off, when they are on, they are on. There is no "bleeding" no light is emitted when they are off. I removed the plastic lens infront of them to look directly at them, and didn't see anything. I've had my leds for several months and have never had a dead battery or any adverse effects at all.

Also, when is there going to be a Stage 1, 2 & 3 Kit like there is for the older model Grand Prix? Hasn't the 2004+ models been out long enough to get these kits designed so people can easily buy a whole kit for interior lights?

I was hoping the same thing. I know that might be too easy . Next we would want them to install them. But have a set that has every led light for the 04 and up would be really great.

Sylvania, and from me looking at the bulb, says the trunk light is a "912 bulb." So would the "LED Board 12-SMD" with the exchangeable ends work for the trunk? Also, have you seen anyone get this for a 2004+ vehicle? I'm concerned that they may not work when keeping the car locked but opening the trunk. I noticed this problem with plugging in a different type of led bulb. The engine either needed to be running, or the key turned to the 1st point. It wouldn't illuminate very well with no key in or just unlocking the trunk.

Be careful with the license plate lights, in my car regular LED bulbs don't work well because the light is aimed forward, not down. And there isn't much room for bulbs there. Not sure if the design was changed for 2006 or not

has anyone put LED bulbs for a 2004+ Grand Prix's License Plate? The angle is really strange so I wonder if there are any LEDs bright enough to reflect enough light down to make them legal.

Same thing with the trunk light, anyone put a LED light in the trunk for a 2004+ GP?

Pics would be nice to see how they look.

Do the LEDs just replace the bulbs or do you need to run all new wires and such ?
