Got my money back from TDC.
so spoke with the armys criminal investigation dept. today..they in turn linked up with the local pd in parkers area who informed a cyber scam unit here in GA and investigation is underway..spent 4 hours of my day off speaking with captains/majors lieutenents and also printed out EVERY page of this thread and they were checking it out..should have just sent us our sh*t parker, now look what you got yourself into!
I just like to add, to all the people that defended this guy to their own death beds, you need to wake up.
I don't care who died, what happened, unless YOU yourself were hospitalized in a coma, there is not one reason you can let your customers know what is going on.
He tried stealing from all of you, realized he FAILED at doing so.
I'm glad I went on my instincts on this guy being a thief, and not making a purchase for him.
Got a notification with an apology that the money had been refunded. Don't know what happened, but the guy is trying to make it right as best he can. I would rather have the gauge, but if I end up with my money back, I am not gonna lose any more sleep over it.
Everyone screws things up, but regardless of why, I will always consider the honourable man to be the one that does what he can to make things right.
Well good for you Mr. Sherlock Holmes, what do you want...a medal?
I backed him up only from personal experience and he did nothing wrong to me. Like I have said in my previous posts I feel for you guys getting screwed out of your purchases and I agree 1,000% it is wrong and should be dealt with to the full extent of the law. However, griping and complaining for 20 something pages got no one anywhere honestly, you just all look like a bunch of 5 year olds...since the poor saps that got ****ed analy could have just disputed their situation and kept it personal...I mean, since he obviously doesn't give a **** to reply to all of this anyways.
I'll admit, I really can NOT fathom this after dealing with him...having saved all this money and getting it shipped SO fast, I figured it might have been TOO good to be true, so...I guess I was right...it sure sucks though
Parker, if you do happen to long in and read this, you need to man up and explain your side of this entire situation. This is beyond wrong and if you happen to have anything left in your scrotum, you'll return.
As a Psychology graduate, from a technical standpoint the entire situation does not make much sense.
NOTE: I am not defending anyone on the situation, i was neither friend of TDC or one of his unfortunate customers.
Parker invested (what seemed to be) a very large amount of time and energy to create a reputable business. He spent a great deal of time answering peoples question on the forums, via pm and via telephone. In the recent months he created a name for himself, a website and a one man business.
Why would a man throw all of this away for around $4,000-$5,000 in parts and cash? Wouldn't he be making more then that with all of the sales he would get in the next month?
Why would he leave a CLEAR paper trail to his house and his name. Why would he do business through PayPal, a source which is so popular because of its fraud prevention?
WHy would he spend soooo much time to make a name for himself for only $4k?
I will tell you why.
Theory 1: He is just young and dumb.
Theory 2: His loss messed him up in the head and the obligation of his business was trivial compared to the event.
Its funny how TDC turned into the Bernie Madoff of GPF.
he is the reason why people are afriad to buy stuff online.......... jesus christ
Good post.
So far, it looks more stupid then criminal.
I hope he fesses up to what is going on.
Maybe he just needs to contact the site admins and post what happened, with whatever apology he thinks is fitting, and then have them close the thread.
If it really was a screw up or stupidity/immaturity, we don't need a pile on of people telling him what an asshole he is.
if he was trying to rip people off, then likely he won't bother commenting anyway.
I jus have to say that I got a porter sc from him like 3days b4 all this happened and it was done great and had no issues. Im shocked to hear this but im lucky that I got the product I ordered.
Hahah this is a joke right? Without this thread I can guarantee you that a lot of us would still be without our money with no clear route to go and he'd be in the clear. He should be banned from this site for good and a notice sent out to every GP forum around. No sympathy should be given. Itll just be a bull**** story anyways.
I would like to be wrong and this guy to be legit so I could buy some HIDs from him but currently looking to not be the case.
He appears to be a classic con artist
All he did was build rep, trash competitors, and drag anyone through the mud that didn't agree with him.
Business wise he started doing *small things* to get his name out there, likely targeting more active and supportive members of the community. He slowly did more and more until he put his site up. After it was up for a while he increased the product line to take in more money, then bailed.
Dunno i could be wrong, may just be a guy that turned to fraud during hard times, which isn't an excuse but morally more acceptable than a full blown con artist.
Likely realized he was traceable and is bailing before he faces serious legal charges - and he likely will not post anything on the forums to prevent incriminating evidence.
Being that it was his *primary job* i'm sure an income of 4000-5000 off a scam would be a nice little profit for a guy out of desperation.
Has anyone considered the parts he did sell were not legit and may be stolen? I suggest checking for serials on parts purchased and received.
Also if anyone directly bought from him VIA credit card - turn off that card and get a new card to prevent identity theft.
