    HI

New to forum. My 15 1/2 yr old sons grand prix started to run like it had a miss after dropping him off at school in it. Noticed digital gauges also flickered while doing this. once got car home notice some smoke coming from under hood opened it up to find oil dip stick not all the way in oil got on headers. checked on line what would cause that to happen. most common answer was pvc valve so proceeded to check. while taking pressure sensor off it fell apart so replaced it instead and tried to start. it would start but ran like it had a miss. so after finding out pvc was pressured into plenum instead of underneath it replace. while replaceing it took off neg cable to reset comp. it will not start at all now. tried reading code errors none came up pretty sure i erased them when i took off batt cable. Any suggestions my wife doesnt like sharring the van nor does my son like to drive it not cool!

    Thanks Gboy

No clue if this will work but i had a hard time starting my car when my MAF went bad. It would keep trying but wouldn't. Unplug the maf and try.

oil was only on header and side of valve cover just a little. Double checked no oil on wire harness.

Four things a motor needs to run are compression, air, fuel and spark. I'm assuming you have compression since it ran before you disconnected the battery. Does it crank and not start? Or does the lights on the dash go out when you try to start it? Have you cleaned the terminals? Checked fuel pressure at the rail? Checked fuses? We need more info to help like model and year na or sc v8 v6?
