Since I've got my LIM off (and everything it took to get to it) to replace/clean a bunch of stuff, I'd like to make sure my head gaskets are OK. Got a few questions about running a compression check in this state, so that if they're leaking I don't have to break it down again.

Fuel relay already out and system depressurized, so no problem there.

Coil packs off and disconnected. Will that, or any other disconnected electronics, cause the ECU to prevent cranking? (Obviously I don't want spark, but I don't know if the ECU needs to see any particular circuitry to allow cranking)

Good idea to reattach dogbones before cranking? Could the engine rotate and cause damage without them?

Haven't drained oil yet, so still should have lubrication.

Any other things that need to be ON or OFF to do this?

Personally if it ran semi decent when you pulled it apart, I'd skip the head gasket/compression check. These motors are super reliable and hardly ever have a HG issue.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

OK, thanks. Besides, I forgot the engine should ideally be warm for the compression test.
