If I undo my top mounts or dog bones, is a torque wrench necessary or can I do this with regular tools?

just make them bolts good and tight.

if you pull on the engine some the bolt will slide out easier too.

I know I keep asking dumb questions. Last time I tried messing with the fuel filter I disconnected the battery and depressurized the fuel. I'm going to try the fuel filter again but I hate having to disconnect the battery. Can I just pull the relay while the car is running? If so, I only need to pull #14, right?

Why not pull the relay then start the car till it dies.

This is all I ever did.

It'd throw a code for something fuel related every now and then, but it clears itself very quickly.

Wait you are supposed to disconnect the battery to do the fuel filter? I always just depresserize the fuel system then pull off fuel filter then put new one on.

They say to unhook the battery for almost every sinlge job on a car LOL.

**** that **** I say, I never unhook the battery for anything, unless it's a "MUST".

Look at the little diagram under the fuse box cover, pull relay and start car and it'll just die within 5 seconds. Or push the schrader on the fuel rail.

If you want to be sprayed with fuel then yea go for it.

Start the car while it's running pull the fuse for the fuel pump car will shut off due to lack of fuel and will clear out most of the fuel out the rails. Obviously still be careful when you remove the filter.

Still can't get the filter off. I tried using acetone and atf several times and even asked a neighbor that has more experience than I do. I have one more guy to try. I hate feeling like I need to pay a shop to put in a part that a kid can do.

Keep soaking it, and make sure you're using a line wrench on it.

Sometimes stubborn lines will crack loose if you try tightening it first. Juuust barely, enough to break the threads' seize then loosen.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

    we talking fuel filter?

if so put vice grips on the line nut, then another wrench on the filter, hold the line nut in place, and turn the filter off the nut.
