About a month ago i received the "unable to locate interface" error. Went through with support and got my new interface in the mail the other day. after i read the ecm i liscenced it and all that, got everything working. When I got home from a drive, saved my scan. Went to change some things with the editor and when I went to flash i got the same error. But now i its not getting power from the obd2. There is 12v at obd2 connection. I'm not sure where to do

Weird, I've never got that error before.

Have you tried re-installed all the software just incase???

And you arent ever running a battery charger on the laptop when you have the MPVI plugged in right? Because that can ruin them.

I'd just assume you've tried all the other USB ports on the computer too.

    Maybe a cable issue??

What are you using to power your laptop while using the interface in the car?

When I had one go, Chris and Bill mentioned that plugging it in like the others mentioned is usually the culprit based on grounding or lack of.

What type of laptop are you using?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Power invertors seem to cause this issue
